What happens if the Patriots have to play a playoff game in blizzard like conditions?

Does this put a damper on their ferocious passing attack? If so, is their running game good enough to go all the way to the SuperBowl? I hope this question makes sense!|||not likely, since the 08 bowl will be in Arizona.... not too many blizzards usually, and i think it's an indoor stadium.

butas far as 'what if's' go.... i'd probably take the Pats over most of the teams in the cold, except for maybe GB.|||Snow angels|||Short passes to Kevin Faulk in the backfield, pound the ball up the middle and I hate to say it, but scramble. That would be my game plan. Though, Tom Brady can throw in the wind, it is the precipitation that gets him off target. Only time will tell what will happen.|||Nope. Tom Brady (aka Jesus) puts a call in to his father (God), and he demands that god allows him to part the defenders like Moses parting the Red Sea. Then God gives him a strong wind to his back, which allows Brady to throw a 99 yard deep ball to Randy Moss, who is carried by angels to catch it 40 feet in the air, and then gently comes down on the shoulders of Wes Welker, who carries Moss the remaining one yard into the end zone. Then Matt Light cures cancer, and Teddy Bruschi rids Africa of AIDS.

Then they go on to lose in the Super Bowl because the Bible really doesn't have a happy ending.|||I'll give you two answers to both questions:

1. Will it damper their passing attack -

To some degree sure. Blizzard conditions effect certain routes, and they effect visibility of the ball. That being said, not to as high of a degree as a lot of teams. Blizzard conditions have a big impact on timing routes, which the patriots dont rely on too much. They aslo effect routes that have quick cuts and slants, another thing the Patriots dont rely on too much. Post and Go Patterns are still runnable and the Patriots use those a lot to begin with.

So yes the Patriots wont have 400 yards passing in a blizzard, but they will still have 200-250 yards and still have a deep threat.

2. Is the Patriots running game good enough?

Absolutely. The Patriots dont run a lot, but they can run when they want to. A lot of people dont know this, the Patriots have the highest percentage of runs for 4 yards or more in the NFL. So when they do run, they move the ball with it better than most teams. They ran on the ravens some, they ran on the colts for more than 100 yards, they ran on the cowboys they ran on the jets. If you look at their games without a lot of running yards, they dont have a lot of rushing attempts, their game plan was not to run.|||They just beat the Jets in bad weather with Maroney rushing for over 100 yards. Brady had less than 150 yards passing and no TDs. I think they still would win.|||I won't be concerned. The Pats have the O-line and running backs to rush whenever needed, and the short passing game they love so much won't be affected much.|||If they have to play in a blizzard then so do their opponents. That's obvious, but which NFL team is it that has this great all weather running game that we hear the Pat's don't have?|||They showed thier running game was good the other week. Besides, NFL players can make adjustments once they've been in a situation like that. They will learn to make passes differently.|||It does not matter what the weather conditions are. The Patriots play best when the weather is not good. Look back at some of the play-off games.|||they wont play as effectively|||They'll have some problem but so is the other team.|||it would not be the first time they have ever played in those conditions. Maybe a first for this year, but not a fisrt, and they always come out winners in those games.|||Looking at the stats, the Patriots have a Good running game... Better than most of the Playoff teams in fact (Now that Parker's hurt especially... Here are the Numbers in the following order:

Attempts / Yards / YPA / Rushing TD's

Patriots: 400 / 1609 / 4.0 / 14

Colts: 405 / 1540 / 3.8 / 17

Jags: 471 / 2094 / 4.4 / 15

Steelers: 492 / 2122 / 4.3 / 8

Chargers: 414 / 1772 / 4.3 / 18

Browns: 378 / 1596 / 4.2 / 13

So... Aside from Jacksonville, no team stands out above the rest. The Patriots also have a better rushing game at Gillette than on the road. They'll still be able to win regardless of the weather.

BTW - Many QB's enjoy snow %26amp; rain because it helps the receivers get open, the biggest enemy weather-wise to a QB is the wind.|||They lose to teams like the Jags and Pack.|||chances are their opponent will have to as well so that should even things out.
