How can their be lightning during a blizzard?
So there is a HUGE blizzard going on and somehow lightning strikes a couple times, why did this happen?|||idk but driving in it was super thrilling|||in a blizzard strati-form clouds form and produce light snow, moderate snow and heavy snow. thunder-snow is like a thunderstorm with snow, formed by convection which produces heavy to even torrential snow in a blizzard. these clouds are cumulonimbus|||Yes, I am experiencing the same thing. It is so strange!!! I heard it was because of the warm air from the east and the cold hair so it was mixing so the lighning was possible. Good luck stay safe.|||Well here in Southern Wisconsin there is also a blizzard and if i remember correctly its just like a rain storm. But when the cold air hits the rain it turns into snow|||It can happen. Just like a thunderstorm. Not as often though. I'm in Ohio and experiencing the same thing.
