What the difference between a bad winter storm and a blizzard?

Right now we are getting a really bad storm...Snow falling a couple inches per hour..high winds...visibility less that 1/4 mile...Temp is only 2 degrees with a wind chill factor of -20...Yet they arent calling this a blizzard..So exactly what conditions need to be present to classify a blizzard?|||Maybe these will help to answer your question, just click on them.

|||Where do you live?? I havent heard of any bad storms in the u.s. Anyways, it probably isnt much different than a blizzard. Maybe its the snow amount. Are you only supposed to get alittle bit more of snow?? Are the winds not strong enough? I dont know, but when I was little, I was in the blizzard of 78,.. and we had like 20 something inches of snow and winds of up to 70mph.|||A blizzard is a whole lot of snow. A bad winter storm is high winds, snow, freezing rain and ice. It seems like that is a bad winter storm were you at. Where do you live?
